From thesis project to recruitment: the key steps

If you hold a Master's degree, an Engineering degree or equivalent*, you can start the adventure of a Doctorate at the ED 397 Physics and Chemistry of Materials. PhD projects duration are 36 months in France.

The Doctorate is part of a close partnership involving :

• an Institution that delivers the diploma (Sorbonne Universite or Paris Sciences et Lettre), Collège de France, CEA...)
• a Laboratory or private companie,
• one (or more) thesis supervisors from ED 397, possible industrial partners, DGRTT (Direction Générale de la Recherche et du Transfert Technologique), SATT Lutech...

The choice to start a Doctoral course at the end of a Master's degree or an Engineering degree is a personal process that requires reflection. It is based in particular on a thorough knowledge of the Laboratories affiliated to ED 397, their own research themes, as well as their thesis project proposals.

* In the case of a Master's degree or equivalent established outside the European Union, a derogation from the Title will be established by the Director of ED 397.
